Looking for opinions on the Solid State versions of the C500/C1000 preamps ...

I'd like some insight from anyone who has the solid state version or has compared the solid state and tube versions of the C500/C1000 preamps. I have the C500T and love its "sound" but I keep thinking about the solid state module and wonder what differences in sound I can expect between the two. Thanks!
 
I had the C1000P and C1000T. Preferred the T, but the P had better bass and clarity. Heart says T, head says P.

Wait....that didn't sound so good.....
 
I know it's crazy, but I think I want the C1000 so I can have both. :panic:
 
Just heard from UPS that my C1000/C1000T may be arrive tomorrow(awesome,,because thats my Birthday) :):)

Stock for now but Gold Lion waiting in the wings.
 
Real improvement with replacing the stock tubes by the GL. The Ec83cc Tesla will come very fast ;)

It's been a while, but I've heard all four iterations in a couple of different systems. Interestingly enough, I preferred the C500P to the C500T, but preferred the C1000T to the C1000P. My overall favorite was the C1000T, but for the $$ I would have gone with the C500P. The overall differences were relatively moderate to minor, but I had the biggest preference for the C500P over the T between all of them. Also the C500P was a BIG step up from the C2300 when compared directly - much bigger soundstage, more dynamic, blacker background, etc.

Well from what i understand it arrived, but its held up in customs for a few days maybe :( ......no worry i will get it soon :)
