Levitating Turntable

Way cool Mike. I want one.

I do see lots of challenges but it is fun to dream about.

I have Sound Will Spikes levitating a 50 pound amplifier. Although they are not as showy because they need a frame to keep the parts from flying away. There was recently a show on PBS with Stephen Hawking narrating while he tricked some young people with dinner plates levitating. Which just proves what I knew all along. Gravity sucks.

Stupid idea. Actually looks more like a way to steal money from people.
1/ a magnetic force able to turn the platter and making it levitating will also induce vibrations. Moreover, there is no physical spindle which will cause uncontrolled oscillation of the platter because of the cart force and weight and because the center of rotation will be undefined.
2/ the coupling with the arm is a non sense.
3/ a levitating tt with an axis spindle but lowering the friction and the force on the spindle already exists. It is the Verdier Platine, the Verdier Nouvelle Platine, and the Verdier Magnum. Invest in one if you want a TT with the minimum vibrations possible on earth instead of loosing your money in a project which surely looks as a robbery.

I jumped in. Even if it was just for the coolness of this. Looks stunning IMO.

They are already over the starting amount so it will turn reality. In one year I'll have a Mag-Lev playing in my house.
