Fairly new to this as I got really interested in these Q150 speakers. It will be for the living room and mainly for music (jazz, classical) and some movies. Will they perform well for that music genre? What amp/AV should I get to pair with it? Guessing i need to purchase some speaker stands too if I need to get those speakers? Suggestions, thoughts?

I love KEF speakers. Have been a huge fan for quite some time now. One other line I might suggest investigating in a similar range would be the ELAC speakers.

I would also look at the B&W 606 and 607's, Elac B6.2's (don't let the price fool you, they sound great with good electronics, way above their price point, bought a pair for my daughter), Wharfedale Diamond 11.2's (a nice warmer sounding speaker, I own a pair of the older model 10.2's), Klipsch RP-600's which I heard at an audio show and was amazed at how good they sounded. If your speakers are going to be close to the wall behind them, consider a front or bottom ported speaker.

You will need a subwoofer for any kind of real bass.
