Hi, guys. Just thought I'd check in to see whasup at The Shark. It's been a couple months since purchasing my system and it is just a dream. I am so happy with it. It's really starting to break in. I try to leave it playing as much as I can to enhance the break in. Even when I'm not in the listening room. The sound is just so full and warm and articulate. Right now I have Kenny Burrell playing his "I'll Get By" album on Roon Nucleus and Qobuz. Such realism and a wide, deep, sound stage.

Anyway, I hope you all are safe and healthy. That darned Corona virus!! It's temporarily put me out of my p/t job at the local community college dental hygiene clinic. I'm 70 y/o so I'm in the higher risk category and I already have a mild head cold to boot. So I have to be kind of cautious.

I have the brown truck coming today to deliver a new jazz archtop guitar. That should help pass the time at home. But I need to decide what I'm going to do about the package when it arrives. My plan is to store it in the garage for four days without opening it. Then wear gloves to unpack it and disinfect the box and case with alcohol wipes. I'm still not sure what I'll do about the guitar. Hopefully just the four day wait will take care of any possible residual virus. I'm not sure what I can use on the guitar to disinfect it without damaging the finish. Alcohol wipes might be fine but I won't use them until I find out if it will damage anything. I would welcome any recommendations. Thanks guys. Oh yeah.....Hi Mike and Joe!!

Regarding your shipping box. Store it. As someone who owns a few guitars ( flattops) never get rid of the boxes they ship them in is my motto LOL. Comes in handy if you ever sell or ship one back for a set up etc... I've used the same shipping box to ship my 1950 D28 back to Martin 3 times. I just put the box in a huge trash bag and store it.

Not sure what your temp or humidity are where you are at, but I bring my guitars in, if shipped and let them adjust to my inside humidity and temp after I inspected them first. I add a humidity gauge (Taylor Hygro-Thermometer Mini Humidity Sensor) inside the case along with a MusicNomad MN30. Just my choices but they seem to work.

A light wiping to kill germs the and then followed up with some polish might be best, you don';t want to destroy the surface. ( test in a corner somewhere first ). From what I read, 4 days on a wood surface for this virus.

Hi !!!

Definitely store the boxes if possible. So happy you are loving the system. Excellent choices all around.

The guitar should arrive without any residue virus. At the most wipe down the box prior to opening. I have read that is probably not even required.

I am happy for you and your enjoyment of your new system!

Unfortunately I have to come into the office every day. I am the one who allows most of our staff to work from home, and I am here keeping everything running for them. I fear every day that I am going to bring something home to my wife who is even more sustainable than I since she is a cancer survivor.
