John Devore talks measured efficiency

thanks for the post -- as a SET tube amp devoté, i am always hyper-focused on speaker efficiency.

although an interesting and informative video around the measurement(s) used to calculate speaker efficiency, the real take-away is that an at least equally important aspect of speaker efficiency is it's impedance curve -- which is what i think john deVore was really trying to get at.

it would certainly be helpful if speaker manufacturers would list the impedance curve along with all the other specifications or at the very least list a minimum impedance value.

i remember the impedance of my old jm labs megaine speakers being listed as 8 ohms (min: 4.1 ohms). however, i can't remember seeing this type information on any speaker i have looked at recently.

KEF publishes minimum impedance. Not many brands do. It is a helpful bit of information.

I enjoy watching the DeVore videos. He speaks his mind and I like that. He comes across as genuine and doesn’t oversell his products.
