After thinking about these amps for the better part of a year and a half, I could not resist any longer.

Not even broken in, they are amazing. These 250 monos are absolutely great. Solid build quality, surprisingly heavy with that distinctive sweet and fast Goldmund sound. They have better bass and more air, simply wonderful and a true high end bargain in the audio world.

THE JOB 250
A Professional Ultra-High Speed Mono Amplifier
The latest addition to the JOB amplifiers family is the mono version of the family.
The JOB 250 is a Mono block of 250W in a reasonably small chassis, only slightly higher than the JOB 225.
Totally protected, easy to use, perfectly silent, it is THE amplifier for an audiophile who is conscious of his budget but demanding the absolute best of the world in sonic quality and having speakers very demanding in power.
With its extraordinary dynamic capability and its unconditional stability, it can drive anything.
More, with the JOB proprietary "Ultra-Control" of the drivers, any speaker even a large one will sound better when used with the JOB 250.
With extremely low distortion, especially IM distortion, literally zero group delay distortion, ultra-wide MegaHerz bandwidth and DC coupling, extreme silence and cool operation, it can be played at high level with the same impression of ease than at low levels.

Thanks to the JOB Electronics large scale of operation on power amplifiers, the JOB 250 is also offered at a realistic price, where high-end audio manufacturers would charge $6'000 to $15'000 if the same amplifier were sold through the traditional channels.

Joe - I just saw a posting on JOB's Facebook page with some customer feedback on these amps. I'm assuming it came from you. These have been on my radar for a while now...I would love to hear them someday as they appear to be right up my alley in terms of sonic signature. Fast, detailed, yet sweet on top.

Yes, that was me. I've been a Job fan from the beginning. These are everything good about the stereo amp and INTegrated but MORE! I can't afford Goldmund, but these are a bargain and ship pretty much overnight, once the order is processed.

All my Job gear and especially these monos will NEVER leave my system.

I don't think you will be disappointed.

I'm sure the STP-SE would be superb. My BHK preamp sounds amazing with it but that preamp is a little quirky. I get a soft pop through the speakers with every volume step change on almost every amp I use with it. Of course my KXR20 is freaking awesome with it.

Congrats Joe. I am sure its a winner. Some folks reported that the soft pop is lot less through the balanced output than the single ended. You can try the balanced output of the BHK, though you might run into too much gain with the Jobs. I guess the intensity would also depends on the speaker sensitivity. I run balanced to the Nords and the pop is so low in intensity that it doesn't bother me....

These are another on my consideration list. I really liked the 225 that I had. I think it was a little too early in my "rebirth" into the audio world to truly appreciate it. I would love it if Goldmund offered the Job in black face :)...

I think the First Watt is similar in sound signature, only much more detailed. The other real difference is power... and gain... the First Watt is on the extreme low gain while the Job is on the extreme high end (Rothwells help a lot)...

By the way, Gratz Joe... like you needed another amplifier :D...

Randy there is always Krylon if you have to have black face or you could have it done at an auto body shop or powder coated. I prefer black too but the Job doesn't stick out as much as standard silver.

Rob

I had good luck with the Job and the STP-SE but a tube preamp with low gain would be ideal unless you are willing to use the Rothwell Attenuators which I have with the Modwright. I am curious about the Backert Labs Rhumba 1.2 whose standard is 9db gain, but since you order straight from the factory I feel sure Andy could lower it if you needed. Something around 6 db or a little lower would be ideal.

Randy - the JOB and F6 might both be sweet, but FAST is probably one of the last words I would use for the F6.
The Clones Audio 25pm monos I had for a while...now THOSE were fast. It sounds to me like JOB really captures the best of both worlds.

I don't know the F6 but the Job 250 monos, especially, are fast and sweet. Open, airy, ballsy and clean. They don't have a tremendously thick tone but, damn, I don't miss it one bit. They play like much more expensive amps and have the characteristic Goldmund sound.

Joe

From what I have read the F6 sound would be akin to the Pass 30's of one generation or the other. For using the BHK with the Mono's, did engaging the Mute before changing volume eliminate the click?

Hi Jack,

Muting before volume change absolutely works but it becomes a guess as to where I want to be volume wise. It's sort of a quick and dirty trick to get around the clicking.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Joe

Is the match of the two enough to overlook the clicking? I would think the gain would be about perfect so it all comes down to the sound of the pair together versus the click.

Wow! Congratulations on the Job Monos Joe!! These really must be something to listen to.

Have you hooked them up to the Stradivaris?

Congrats Joe! I LOVED my Job 225. I bet the 250's are awesome. Sweet sound!

And the best part - they're Class AB!
