Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick Live At The London Hippodrome, 1977

Good stuff. I saw Tull or Ian at least 10 times over the years. Have you listened to the Ian Anderson String Quartets release? Really good.

The flute was very uncool as an instrument in a rock ‘n roll band until Jethro Tull. Paved the way for Marshall Tucker and others.

I saw them live also. Late 1960's or early 1970's. Excellent show. The keyboard player was in the same location, but his back was to the band and there was a piano. It might have been a case where they relied on the venue to provide the keyboard? I was amazed at Ian dancing around on one leg while playing the flute.

Last night I got tired of picking and asked the wife to pick. Out of the rack comes Live at the BBC 1991 disk. Good show.

Major fan, and finally seen them live a couple year’s back, Ian lost a big part of voice after the 3rd or 4th song making it not as exciting especially being outside on a cold wet day - still glad I went though!
