Hi everyone,
I am currently using an Ipad for Lumin and an android phone for the rest, both are now long in the tooth and I would like to cut down to one device, and am hoping that an Iphone 12 would have a large enough screen for comfortable use of the Lumin app. Does anyone have an opinion about this they could share with me?

I love the fact that the Lumin app works on both iPhone and iPad, however, I consider using it on an iPhone as emergency only. I prefer using it on the iPad.

Best thing about using it on the iPad is that one doesn't have to swipe between screens which has never been reliable for me on the iPhone.
Ironically I mostly use an iPhone because I'm usually carrying it.
But if you want a device for the purpose of operating a Lumin, stick with an iPad.

Yeah, don't be cheap! Keep both! :D

iPad all the way. Easier on my aging eyes and the phone's battery.

It is pretty convenient for me using the iPad to get it started and then the Lumin remote control to pause, skip, rewind, mute, to go to the last internet radio station that I had on, and turn the unit off. My favorite feature: picking it up and hitting one button to either pause or mute when the phone rings. It doesn't hurt that it is also easily my best-looking and best-feeling in the hand remote out of all of them that I have for my many pieces of audio and AV equipment.

I got my remote package from Suncoast Audio, but I believe they are now built into (some of?) the newer units. Peter or Mike, please correct me if I'm mistaken.

I've got a 5-6 yo iPad pro, more or less dedicated to my Lumin. Works great. Need the screen size for the Lumin app (ditto Tidal and Spotify). I also got one of the Lumin remotes for convenience.

Never tried my iPhone. I could as a last resort I suppose. Would probably suck.

The remote is a standard accessory that comes with Lumin P1, but it is an optional purchase for all other Lumin models.

At a local dealer who has the Lumin P1, a common request from those auditioning it would be for the volume control on the remote to repeat. Currently in order to increase volume you need to repeatedly press the ^ button, where most remotes are programmed to continue to change the volume as long as the button is depressed. Assume that could be implemented with a firmware change and might be something you'd want to consider.

Yes, we noticed that too. It might be just the way the remote is designed. Not sure.

I use an iPar Air (10” I think) or my Android phone. Only use the phone when absolutely necessary I find the phone app difficult.

I’ve started using the remote lately a bit more. Generally I don’t like hand-held remotes, the concept just seems very old-school to me and I’ve become more used to apps, and an app is almost always closer by than grabbing a remote. That said, this is by far the nicest remote I’ve ever used. The feel, look, and haptics of it are unbeat.

I'll look into it. Thanks.

Repeat functionality should have been working for those who have separately purchased the Lumin remote with the USB IR receiver (not for P1).
