For a while I have had some odd static coming thru my speakers with or without music. It comes and goes and does not always sound the same. I ruled out the speakers, tubes and other things.

Two weeks ago when I started playing with the after market power cords, I also embarked on a Cale Routing Cleanup project. I am trying to make sure that any IC are crossing PCs at 90 degrees, or moved them away. I also moved the outboard power supply for my VAC Pre that sits on the floor behind my rack. I also use the TrendNet thru the electric Ethernet adapters which is plugged in to a non related outlet that was just above where my VAC PS was sitting. I re-routed those CAT5 cables and also moved the PS.

I didn't really do any of the tidying for the noise reasons but when it was done, I noticed that the noise now seems to be gone or very very little if any.

Has anyone else run into this issue of getting noise thru your Stereo from the back and forth chatter in the Cat5 cables near other cables? Hopefully it was the issue and it's now resolved, but surprising to say the least.

Normally you shouldn't with equipment that's up to EMI standards.

Proper cable routing is always a must. This is why I like WiFi. If you need go with STP cabling. Even if you just do it with no shield tied at their end would provide some benefit.

Blue Jeans Cable does their CAT6 this way I believe.

I could always make one for you if you PM'd me. Just whatever the materials cost. Let me know the length needed.
