Interesting Study of the Effect of Low Frequency Sound Upon Human Hearing

I need to read this a few times, there's a lot in it. Speedily reading, I think the paper suggests that our hearing perception is affected (enhanced) by LF frequencies that we cannot hear as well as being susceptible to 'oscillated' hearing loss when subjected to high LF< volumes/pressures...

That would include ULF, which would also explain why it is bad living close to a windmill farm!

A few years ago my wife woke up one morning complaining of a bad nights sleep and a low grade headache. I thought about it and remembered waking up several times during the night myself. I also felt a bit ornary. The same was repeated for another night or two.

Then we saw in the news that the government was conducting a series of tests off the coast of Long Island. The tests were low frequency communication tests. They stopped them because there was some concern about what the tests were doing to the fish in the area, especially whales. Apparently the sounds travel far, far, far.

Once the tests stopped we slept noticeably better.
