No problem at all with noise. Using high gain with 100 ohms loading. Sweet sounding cart out of the box! Very musical with excellent liquidity and ohh that midrange...
Got interested with ikeda after your review of the 9tt...
Compared both before purchase...you got to hear this one Myles
Nice, I love the 9TT. And although they are tough to align, the Ikeda's look fantastic and that big body provides a lot of protection for the cantilever and stylus.
The ZYX Universe II reminds me of a sweeter smoother 9TT, I wonder if the Kai will be similar.
So Myles, have you played with any mono carts these days, any favourites, have you tried the Ikeda Mono yet?
Mark, I restrict myself to stereo releases.Yeah I know....
Got too much to write up any. Finishing the Transfiguration Proteus and right now it's the Koetsu Azule Blue. Definitely unlike your father's Koetsu!Or the wood bodied cartridges. There are adjectives that I'd use with the Azule that never in a million years would people normally associate with Koetsu.
Then the Triangle Arts Zeus.
Would also love to get a listen to the Archon cartridge too.
Looking forward to your reviews Myles. Any idea when the Azule review is likely to be online? Many thanks
Hoping after RMAF but right elbow reconstruction may slow my typing up a bit.![]()
Many thanks for the feedback and best wishes for your elbow surgery.

Oh yeah, the Kai is definitely sweeter and smoother than the 9TT...more refined with better extention in the highs.
