I have a chance to pick up a set of Revel Salon 2's from an estate at a reasonabl price. I'd love to hear them in my room with my current gear although making this happen would be difficult. This is also the only way I'd know 100% if I'd like them as much as my 4367's.

I've heard the Salon 2's many times in different systems. They were good but I don't recall anything making me lust for them. I heard both them and my 4367's at a room at Axpona and recalling I preferred the 4367.

Reading this back there shouldn't be any question yet I somehow wonder if the Salons would provide better imaging and I'd also should gain lower octave bass response. Then again, I may lose other aspects I like with the 4367's. Bass and percussion is very lifelike while the mids and highs are pristine.

I will most likely pass as I'm not really looking to change. It's just those darn temptations.
 
I’ve owned them twice. They need AT LEAST 750 watts a channel to wake up (and that’s come from their designer Kevin Voecks to me). They also need subs as they are peculiar in that they don’t make deep powerful bass. Odd. I’m in agreement with Kevin based on my own experiences. I had the 300 watt Mc 2301’s on them and they shut down the amps repeatedly at a modest volume. The Studio 2 for me was a better integrated speaker and could do with “only” 350 watts a channel.
 
Interesting Mike with your comments on The Salons. I've heard them perform wonderfully with alot less power. Myself, driving a pair of Studio 2's with PASS X260.8's in a 14'6" x 24'6" room is more than enough for me. Yes I utilize a sub as well.
 
I wouldn't want to own any speakers that require a minimum of 750 watts.
 
I’ve owned them twice. They do. You want to really hear what they can do? You need major power. Anything less and the Salon 2’s sound anemic and have no bass whatsoever. Bryston 28SST2’s would be a good match. 1000 watts/channel into 8.
 
Mike, I wasn't implying that 'big power' wouldn't help. My experience with them was in a room slightly larger than mine and not at bombastic Sp levels. If memory serves me correct(it was over 7 years ago) amplification was Levinson mono's, 400 watt I believe.......
