I am a strong advocate of shielded cable no matter the interface. Not only do I use Category 6A Patch leads in the data centre, I use it everywhere at home.
Every HiFi component that has an Ethernet plug has CATEGORY 6A hanging off it. Shielded cables matter!!
Your next generation of HiFi component will be HDBaseT ready, so I urge you to think about CAT6A today.
