I ordered a Tesla Model Y long range. Red with white interior. Delivery for December, hopefully!

I read a presser on the Model Y a few days ago. I was to understand it was a SUV type vehicle. It might ride slighter higher than the other Tesla models but it doesn't look very SUV to me. 0-100 in 3.7 seconds is impressive for the performance version, the long range version is not too far behind that. But you only get an extra 25km range on the long range version.

Very cool Joe... what is the range of this "long range" model?

Thank you. Fully charged is 326 miles. For daily charging, you should not exceed 80% capacity. I'd love a little more range but it's a tried and true combo. I drove a performance version today and could not believe the acceleration. Just mind blowing.

Congrats Joe. That’s awesome. Can’t wait for your impressions.

A December delivery is pretty good. Where I live some dealers have stopped taking orders for new cars because they just can't get an allocation from the factory.

Was originally January, but just got updated to Dec. 5th to the 25th.

Enjoy it!! [emoji122][emoji122][emoji122]
(Btw, don’t worry about the tires! If you do, you can’t afford it)

Congratulation Joe. I've had my model 3 awd since February. Clearly the best and most fun car I've ever owned. Get your flac music on a flashdrive or ssd. listening to music while driving in this car is surprisingly good. I'd also recommend getting a home charger setup. It's just nice knowing your refilling your car while you sleep. If you use a owners referral link you and the link owner get 1K miles of free super charging which are clearly the best for grid charging at this time. There are a ton of youtube videos for new owners on Tesla's. Looks like you will have sometime to watch a few of them while you wait.
:D

I've been reading/watching for a while now. I was hoping to use my dryer outlet in the garage but am investigating a dedicated outlet. My AC panel is across the house in the basement, couldn't be any further away. Ugh!

You can use your dryer outlet with the included portable charger that comes with the Tesla. There is a two hookup connection option for the nema 14-50 which allows your dryer to share the connection with the Tesla. Do a google search. I had a 50amp outlet available so I use that for the Tesla wall charger. It charges about 40 miles per hour.

Thank you for the information. I have a neighbor who’s an electrician. I’m going to have him see what we can do about a proper circuit. There’s something called the Dryer Buddy that shares the dryer outlet and will switch the electricity according to the need and not overdraw the circuit.

I should be able to get 17-20 miles per hour charging with my current setup.

Joe, nice car. Good choice. I should get an electric car for my last car since I drive so little now. On the other hand, they are really expensive for the little I will use it. Decisions, decisions.
