I’m coming from the Weiss Man301 to the Lumin U!. The Weiss simply burns the cd in a lossless format to my NAS.. how can I burn cds to my NAS in a lossless format now on my Mac which is devoid of a CD-ROM drive?
is there a simple solution I can purchase that will avoid iTunes? I’m obvious;y happy to purchase a drive and your recommendations will be both helpful and invaluable!

On Mac, try XLD (free) or dbPoweramp ($39, 21-day free trial). Let's see what other members suggest.

Alternatively, you can try subscribing to a streaming music service such as Tidal or Qobuz (if you're in Europe) to avoid the need to rip CD. You can search the web and find sites that give you 90-day Tidal free trial.

Thank you Peter,
i must add that I continue to purchase cds’s and still have about 600 to burn, so I would like the process to me simple. Metadata needs to be imported too.

I have disc drives in my PCs (and an outboard drive isn't expensive) but have been using dbPoweramp for years (transferred my license from my old Windows 7 Pro PC to the newer PC not that long ago). It's very simple to use. I then copy stuff to my NAS (and to back-up hard drives). I use a Lumin U1 as well with an EMM Labs DAC 2X in the main system.

If your MAC does not have a CD Drive, you can buy an external CD drive and connect it to the MAC via USB.
Then you can use DBpoweramp to rip your CDs and save them to your NAS.
If your Lumin has access to the NAS, then you will be able see and play your new rips.
