How to burn quality BLu-ray movies and music? ...Or the dawn of the ultra fast download age.

There is software available to rip blue ray bit-perfect, video and audio, to data in various formats (.mkv being one of the more popular extensions). The only hiccup I am aware of is the video/audio sync which may require re-ripping on a few occasions (rare). There are not a multitude of media players available, however, that will play an .mkv without question other than a PC. "Popcorn hour" is the player I use but I am on my second unit after the first one burnt itself to death :).

How long it takes to download a two-hour 1080p movie (BD) with a five-channel high-res (lossless) audio soundtrack?

Is it possible, and for free?

Like I said, I know nothing, but I would love to learn everything. ...And still be a cool guy with the system (laws of my country).
 
I don't know about DLs, just rips. I'd assume it's as fast as your DL speeds allow if you had a source. Typically 15-30 GBs a flick.
 
I might have a post here on how to rip Blue Ray Audio disks. I have done a few now, and just this week Bob Marley Legend, Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique, and Neil Young Psychedelic Pill arrived to be ripped on Saturday.

I will try to find the post tomorrow night, and post it.

I hope David chimes in here. He has this device that rips blu rays and he demoed it for me and it was incredible. When it comes to video, I'm of no help....but that was impressive.

Can you get similar quality on another video/audio medium? ...USB sticks (3.0), SD cards (high speed), High-rez video/audio servers, ...?

* What are the best and most inexpensive methods, plus extremely satisfying alternatives; with even less money investment and less complications to simple people like me for example?

I recommend you to search
on Amazon , they have many good offers around $100 bucks
