This month marks three years for me being a member on Audioshark. Time sure flies when you're having fun. I enjoy participating on this audio forum. Just for the heck of it I checked to see how many threads I started in this past three years. At this moment the total thread count I started equals 164. Has anyone else checked their thread count? I am curious who the biggest content contributors may be.

It’s nice over here. People are friendly, and the Mike allows open discussion on products. I’ve experienced a forum where disparaging comments about brands sold by the site owner are quickly deleted. This site isn’t a glorified marketing machine, it’s truly a community. I’m glad to be a part of it.

How do you check the count for threads started? I only find total posts.

Brian.......Click on your user name above you avatar, then click on View Profile, then click on Find latest started threads. That will display the pages of threads you started. Each page has 25 threads on it.

Thanks Dan! My Thread Start Count is 178

Brian.......Cool. You have provided a lot of content and topics for the forum. Not too long ago Mike posted a thread encouraging members to post more content to help keep the forum fresh, interesting and fun. That's what got me thinking about how many threads I started, and wondering about how many threads other members started.

After three years as a member and a couple years before that as a lurker I have observed that the majority of threads and posts are done by a relatively small percentage of the 10,000+ AudioShark members. It seems a majority of members are passive participators. I think it would be great to see more of these individuals come out of the shadows and become more active in creating forum content and posting comments. Just sayin'.....

yes! Yes! Yes!

I agree Dan, lots of members and lurkers and any civil discussion is good. I know some of my threads are way off topic of Audio, but I love this community and OT discussions and threads. I wish I could contribute more, but I am not in the same league as most members so lacking in personal experience of all the good gear.

I mostly start music threads these days...sharing the "wealth" so to speak.

Have been meaning start a system building thread, but need to get motivated!

Hi Dan,

Exactly 164 started threads for me also, in exactly five years today, since April 4, 2013.

Your social philosophy is sound, solid, stereo; having more active participation/sharing from the peaceful tranquil angels above.
That is one of my philosophies also.

Hi Dan,

Exactly 164 started threads for me also.....

Bob.......Quite the coincidence.

What often surprises me is the high number of views for a particular thread, yet a low number of replies. Sharing thoughts on what you read is the very genesis of what a forum is all about.

It is indeed Dan; the exact same number of started threads...164, and in exactly five years day for day, for me, on April 4th.
For you it is over a period of three years, this month, on April 27.

I agree with you in regards to the number of views and the number of replies.
Replies are the main foundation of social discussions, a higher learning, a social affair, live.
The number of views is all relative; it's like the number of followers on Twitter.
The people who change the world are the people who actively express their voice.
Not everyone want to change the world, and not everyone know how to change it for the better. :-)
____

Here's an additional funny stats to the equation: From the total number of threads started per each individual, how many of them have been locked down? :cantmove::locked::inconspicuous: ...Five for me.

I forgot the great choice of smilies there is here @ AudioShark.
