I'm really good at helping other people spend their money! :) Just ask Mike.

Anyway check out Music Direct's Analog closeout sale. Some great LPs for 10-20% off or more. Plus free shipping on orders over $99.

Not so many any more. Over about 15 years from the mid 90's to about 2010 I bought a total of about 10,000 records, mostly from London, mostly during trips there, but sometimes by mail order. So that would be 650 or so a year, mostly bunched with a month or less. We would be allowed three suitcases each, up to 90 lbs each for most of the flights. At 1/2 pound per record, we could get 120 records or so into one suitcase and use four of the six suitcases for the records!

Those LL Bean canvas bags also hold a lot of records!

Years ago, the roundtrip airfare from New York to London was a ridiculously low $300 and would make an occasional trip to London (had a friend to stay with) just to go record shopping. That plus work brought me to London three to four times a year and needless to say, didn't miss the opportunity to take advantage of each trip. Brought back lots of records that were in those days 1-3 pounds (on occassion 10-20) each!

In fact, probably 20 years or so ago, was travelling back from Edinburgh with my ex- where I had just scored a big haul of records from a store run by an American ex-pat. We were taking the shuttle back to London and as we passed through customs, the officer remarked to my ex- "oh your husband is moving his record collection!" To which my ex-responded, "I wish that was his record collection!" :)

Currently with me it varies. One month I can pick up 2 or 3 or 4 and the next it can be 6 or 9 or up to 16. I never buy new records, not counting the rare lucky landing of a sealed record amongst the used boxes. (That's happened about 4 times over the past 3 years).
I have about 30 lift to get on my list and then I'll probably stop all together.
