So Animas have always been one of my top 3, but I have previously heard it with Modwright gear, and as it is a 109db horn, wanted to hear it with lower powered valves. So went to Paris, and wow. I have never heard music as live as this. Best reproduction of orchestra and Jazz, great on vocals. This, along with another horn that I had demoed in Berlin, mentioned in my Horn Porn III thread (http://www.whatsbestforum.com/showth...lectric-Berlin), are my ultimate dream speakers, topping the Analysis Amphitryon.
As you can see below, the color he had chosen for his wood was atrocious, but you can get really high WAF wood. Anyway, he had this almost 250lb integrated valve amp called Aries Cerat Diana, which sounded brilliant. Bigger than a Krell. We used the Eera Stanton to play CDs and then compared it to the Verdier Platine turntable. With this speaker as the ultimate goal, I can stick to 2-ch without trying to buy an Auro 3d type corrector-processor.
Very live room, without treatment, yet sounded great. I have heard these in three different rooms now sounding great - yesterday with this gear, previously with Modwright, and once with two Devialet monoblocks - just goes to show it can sound good with anything
