I have a Lumin D2/ L1 combination and a Samsung Tab Pro tablet (2014 vintage). The system is in another room from my router (maybe 30 feet) and I get a very strong signal checking it with my phone. Before ditching the Lumin and trying another brand, I wanted to see if there is something I am doing wrong. When listening the tablet locks up. Shows albums but nothing works. I hit the home button and touch the Lumin app and it goes back to the same locked up screen. After 5 minutes the app will start working. This can happen 4 or 5 times during a 2 hour listening session. Second problem is the App cuts off quite a bit.

I contacted Peter, he told me to load the newest app (which I did)
and try Linn Kazoo. I have not tried the Linn App. I am old and not computer smart.

Is this normal for using Apps to control music thru the Lumin or even other streamers?

Do the Apple Tablets work better?

I too have had numerous freeze ups and other problems with the app. Additionally, I find the playlist function to be less than ideal. Thus, I have put Roon in front of the Lumin and simply play through it. This has proven to be very satisfactory and added a lot of features missing in the Lumin app. Unfortunately it's not cost free.

Lumin app on iPad is much more mature. If you experience problems on Android, please try Linn Kazoo app or Bubble DS Next.

Thanks everyone for your help. I was talking to a friend and he thinks the tablet and phone I use have small memories and they are full. (16g on both). He is pretty sure if I get a tablet with a larger memory it will cure the problem. Does this sound correct.

Please try the alternative app(s) on you Android device first. If you would like to get a different control device for use with Lumin, please get an iPad, not an Android device.

Thanks Peter for the help. My girl friend is getting a new phone and I will load the app on her phone and see if it works. (still android) Not knowing Apple products what would be the oldest model that I should look at? I will just use it for music. I would rather spend the money on an Lumin upgrade from the D2.

I use it on the iPad Mini, and an iPhone 7. Works best on the iPad. Sometimes the iPhone does not detect a new entry, but the iPad does.

i also had an Ipad mini which i used for the Lumin App among other things , and it worked great As it was the first model of the Ipad mini with 16 gb it was getting slow so last year i upgraded to Ipad pro 10,5 inch and could´nt be happier it works flawless.
