Looking at either the H160 or H300. Can someone tell me if these do DSD? All I've seen so far are PCM specs... I think.

Thanks!

Thanks Mike.... I'm looking for something with Class A/B amp and can do PCM/DSD. Was also looking at the new Parasound Integrated but it's backordered for a month or so.

Bruce - have you heard the Devialet? It's not class D. It's A/D.

No... not in my room/system. Was trying to keep it under $5k if possible, though I may be able to stretch a little.

My thought would be the D200, which is also expandable to the D400 should you so choose.

What speakers are you using? I would check and see if Devialet SAM is available for them.

The Devialet sounds Class A, and only Class D in the bass. The phonostage and DAC in it are crazy good too.

Bruce,

I just got confirmation from Hegel that the new H360 integrated does DSD (64/128) natively.
The other units accept DSD data, but convert internally to PCM.

Nice!! What's MSRP?

USD 5700. It was supposed to ship earlier this month, but we're finally getting ours early next week.

Here's some more info about it

H360 at a glance
New SoundEngine:
A new revision of our patented SoundEngine(adaptive feed forward amplifier) that increasesdamping factor to above 4000. All this while stillmaintaining extremely low distortion levels andup to 60% less power consumption in idle.

New power supply / output stage:
Improved transformer and new output stagesallow 50% more current, compared to the H300

New preamp power supply:
Completely separate transformer for pre ampand DAC results in much lower noise levels.

Improved Balanced input:
Completely new balanced inputs with technologyfrom the Reference P30 pre amp

Powerful:
The H360 is rated at 2*250 watts continous into8 ohms, and will be stable into lowerimpedances.

H360 Streaming
Further improved Apple AirPlay:
With the improved master clock we have takenthe sound from AirPlay to unheard of qualitylevels in the H360, maximising the experiencefrom streaming service like TIDAL, Beats etc

Upnp streaming:
Streaming from a NAS drive to the H360 issignificantly improved compared to the H160.With the new master clock and advanced noiseshielding, the H360 is a true streamer.

Works with ”all” apps:
The idea behind Hegel streaming is that youshould be able to use the app of choice, andchange as you please. The H360 will work withmost all apps on the market.

DSD 64/128:
The USB input now supports native DSD64/128

New D/A-Converter:
Brand new D/A converter with improved masterclock and new AKM chips.

I can attest to the excellent performance of the Airplay functionality. It's perfect when you have friends over (with their iDevices), or when you just want to play some tunes randomly, but with decent SQ.
