Hegel H590 vs Hegel H360

The 590 is worth the extra expense. I did see a 390 was shown but I haven't heard one. Hegel is also quite different in sonic character than the other integrated amps you are considering.

Yeah, I'm still pretty much stuck on the Luxman 509x for an amp. Seems to be a no brainer with the Harbeths. But I always keep (somewhat of) an open mind. Lots of great stuff out there.

I have never owned an amplifier that would shut down, for any reason. Perhaps Hegel needs some better design work?

Right
My krell went in 3 times while under warranty, my B&K also several times although the last 10 years or so it's been trouble free. I'll say I've activated overload protection on every amp/int I've ever owned or demoed! Maybe it's a really dead room acoustically or some really inefficient speakers or the combo of both. I will say of the many amps the H360 is my favorite.
