Has anyone used the Mytek Brooklyn to record DSD files from vinyl LPs?

I am thinking of building a mechanism for myself to create DSD files from vinyls and would welcome advice if any Sharks have already tried that.

If I am not mistaken, the little Mytek Brooklyn has an ADC with a phono input, anyone tried that yet?

I was looking at the Mytek but decided to go with the NuPrime DAC-10H instead. The NuPrime has a far better pre-amplifier section from everything I read. Also I wanted a balanced headphone amplifier which the Mytek does not have. The NuPrime has two analog inputs so it certain can accommodate a phono pre-amplifier. It is also cheaper than the Mytek and for the price difference you can certainly get as good of a phono stage as Mytek offers. With only one analog input on the Mytec you can get their phono pre-amplifier or use it as a standard analog input, but not both. So, if I wanted to have a SA-CD hooked up AND a turntable you would be out of luck. With the NuPrime you can do both.
 
There is a Mytek Brooklyn DAC with a phono input and a Mytek Brooklyn ADC.
You can’t of course record analog with a DAC, you need a ADC to do so.

The Brooklyn DAC is a DAC and pre-amp.
Add a phono stage to the pre-amp and you can use it to play an analog source.
That is not the same as digitizing an analog source.

Thanks Vincent for clarifying, I thought the Brooklyn is an ADC/ DAC with a phono-pre. That would be a pre-condition for this to work.

Chris, that's the kind of device I'm looking for - thanks.

Now being an audio nut and all, the question I have is, does this one do as good AD/DA conversion as my Meitner DAC? I.e. do I lose the benefit of vinyl sound trying to convert vinyls into DSD with a less than superior DAC?

Are you saying you own EMM ADC8 MkIV its the only Meitner I know of that does AD/DA

Sorry, no. I was referring to the DAC section. It's the MA-1.

I wonder if you really need DSD
Does the Meitner accept DSD for input and if it does , does it play native DSD or convert it to PCM first.
The down side of DSD is that you can’t edit it.
If you want de-click your vinyl rips, you have to convert to PCM first.
Likewise the Audiogate software allows you to edit by applying the same trick on the fly, converting DSD to PCM and back.
Some DSD formats are not suit for tagging.
Makes me wonder if this a bit esoteric format is the right choice.
Recording in 24/96 PCM I do think far more convenient.
 
[emoji3] PCM is good, but not as good as native DSD.

Meitner does native DSD, the guy actually invented it.
