Halgorythme is a "strange" french company. Only one employee : the boss, Cédric Halgrin. An audio genius, designing and hand making preamps, power amps, headphone amps. He also designs custom units depending on your needs.
I listened to the top of the line Halgorythme preamp and power amps on both Harbeth SHL5 and my 40.1 speakers.
Halgorythme does not compare to any industrial brand.
Bart is ordering the full set preamp / power amps after hearing them on his Vivid speakers. He already sold his Burmester amplifier.
Georges, "antipop" on AA, also got a pair of 1605 amps for his Ellipsa.
People who get the chance to listen to them end up with the same conclusions. Stellar performance. A sound to die for, without any shortcoming. Pure perfection and bliss.

Halgorythme just released their new high powered SETs : the PSE 1605 ( Parallel SE ) with Emission Labs tubes.
2 x 48W of pure bliss.
He is now accepting orders from Canada and US.
He already sold 2 pairs there.
These are the very best amps I ever heard. Outstanding built quality and point to point wiring.
Retail price in France is 9000 euros for the pair VAT included.

Nice casework & old school point to point wiring, though there does seem to be quite a lot of wire in there. But the proof is in the listening as they say. " A sound to die for, without any shortcoming. Pure perfection and bliss."...sounds like these amps deliver the goodies!

Wow! Beautiful work on these amps. I would love to hear them on both my Strads and 40.1's. I bet they are wonderful Jerome.

Thanks Jerome!
I think Amare Musica is a better option. It is build better, with better components and it have silver output transformers :-) all you should look there at amaremusica.pl and they as far as i know they sell not two pairs. They sells two pairs in a week, worldwide :-)))

Amare Musica is a better option ? Soundwise ?
Did you listen to both brands side by side ?
Your statement is typically the reason why forums can become a loss of time and energy.
The pleasure of sharing get lost.
Better parts ?

Cédric Halgrin, boss of Halgorythme, chooses the parts with a cost no object spirit. Only by ear. For example, there are more expensive caps in the AN line than the ones he uses. But he does not like their sound. As for transformers. He tried many of them. Including the ones made of silver wire. He chose Hashimoto for the sound, like a few other high end companies, and Lundhal for balancing signals.
Resistors and caps are all military grade and built in Europe.
Like Shindo, Cédric's collection of tubes could be stored in a Swiss bank. Some of them costs more than 4k euros for the pair ( Western Electric Triode 10 for example ) !

He does not build gear for a living. Hence he does not advertise or makes marketing. He builds gear only to share a passion. That is why he refuses to hire employees and the waiting time is several months to get one amp.
Opposite to the standard industrial model, the fact that building an amp takes 3 to 4 weeks should actually inspire confidence.
As I said, Halgorythme is hand made "Haute Couture". Most other brands including Amare Musica are industrial "Prêt-à-Porter". I do not care for silver wire transformers. I care for sound.

And about parts, Halgorythme never uses any printed board. Only point to point wiring. Why ? Because printed circuits affect the sound in a very concrete and measurable way.

Jérôme, will Cédric come to the forum & share his thoughts & experiences with us. Would love to hear him explain why & what he did that sounds so right to his ears. They sure are a very good looking bit of gear thats for sure.

Hi Kev,
Cédric is not much into audio forums.
I will send him the link to this thread and he will subscribe if he wants to.
Just for the story, the reason why he started building his own amps is pretty interesting.
He had a Jadis DA30 that stopped working.
He opened it to make the repair and found the parts and components to be of very cheap quality.
