He tried 701 monos, but the Mephisto was much better. He still has the Soulution 7-series preamp.

At these prices there is no better, just different and unfortunately potentially lacklustre combinations.

None of the brands you have mentioned, matches in my experience Gryphon electronics.

One of my friends - Magico M-Pro owner - has just bought the Mephisto to replace his Soulution 511 monos. He tried 701 monos, but the Mephisto was much better. He still has the Soulution 7-series preamp.

the 721 pre is the best i've ever heard. obvi ymmv but damn it's an incredible piece

i really love soulution so @mike - give me a shout if something comes together!

Should pair well with the Kharma DB9-S speakers I have coming.

The gryphon amps are pretty stout. Even my 120 Oozes with quality all the way around
