Franco Serblin Accordo

Franco Serblin made wonderful speakers. I considered their big floor standers a long time ago but I’m sure the Accordo are great as well. I’d pick them over many others.

Hello everyone,

Any thoughts on those speakers?

You know sometimes when you move a speaker on and you wish you hadn't ? The Accordos are one of those speakers for me. Just a wonderful little speaker both in looks and sounds. Very open with a gorgeous midband and a detailed treble. Not the last word in bass, as you would expect, but what they do have is tuneful and texturally detailed. I am just itching to hear the floor standing version they have just brought out !

Hello Nick,

yes they look lovely its called essence very beautiful. I have at home harbeth 30.2 and Primaluna Dialogue HP pre and power. We live in small appartement from, wall to wall only 13 feet, wife dont like the looks of the speaker and amplifiers on top of the cupboard soundwise I like iT a lot. So I m looking for something new better looks and amplifier needs to go in cupboard. Was thinking Franco serblin the essence with audio analogue puccini or Martin Logan esl x with audio analogue maestro. considering the width of only 13 feet of the listening place, do you have any experience with those brands?

Hiya, I am afraid I don't really have any experience with the Audio analogue gear. When I had the Accordos I drove them initially with a Devialet 200 and then after that I had great success. with a Grandinote Shinai. Likewise I haven't had much to do with Martin Logan since I briefly owned a pair of their Aerius speakers back in the day. I heard the latest ESL 15 at a show and can't recall being blown away by them, but that was under show conditions so really doesn't count. When I had the Aerius at home I never could get past the meld between electrostatic panel and dynamic woofer although I understand it has now been markedly improved. Such a shame your wife doesn't like the Harbeths I think they may be hard to beat without spending a good deal more. Good luck !!
