Hi every body. I'm hoping someone here has had a chance to listen to these two speakers.
I have saved some cash and have come down to these two among many as my final decision..
The Marten Django XL was launched in 2013 in the US and has some pretty amazing reviews
in the US and Europe. Its a highly recommended Stereophile Class A.

The focal on the other hand is a new speaker launched in 2015. No too many review but most are
pretty good. Speaker won the EISA awards as best hi end speaker in Europe for 2015/16.

Price is pretty close, size is pretty close... your opinions will be appreciated

Welcome. Do you live in the U.S.? Can you audition both? What electronics and source(s) do you have? Cabling too.

I've not heard either exact model. I've not heard Martin at all. I have heard several models of Focal with electronics like T+A, Sim Audio and Devialet. In general I find Focal in the neutral range, meaning not leaning too warm or bright. The highs are extended, I've not found them out of line but could be a consideration if your system leans bright. I like the fact that the Focals I've heard deliver good transient response if fed by capable electronics. In most instances the overall response was flat, a good presentation without any certain frequency range calling my attention.

FWIW, Focal would be on my audition list if I were shopping. I like a speaker that is able to deliver good transients and dynamics in the music.

I believe I may have seen you post this similar question on another forum, when you say "2" you are referring to the Sopra 2? If so, I did hear that model a couple times. My personal take on Sopra is it's more refined, polite compared to the other Focal models and I feel lean warmer by comparison to their siblings. Once driven by Sim and another by Pass.

Before committing you may want to give a listen to Dynaudio's new Contour series. Not that it would be any better or worse, just a good new product as an option.
