Interesting gear for sure. However, a friend and I were not impressed with the Golden Ear Triton at Axpona. They sounded bright and very midfi for lack of a better term. It may have been the music or electronics but we were very disappointed given all the hype about these speakers.

I also have my doubts about the Devialet Phantom's ability to give the sound stage and presence of larger speakers. They kind of remind me of similar claims like the Bose Wave Radio all though I am sure that the Devialet's sound very good and nothing like Bose. I guess we will have to wait for the reviews.
 
I am interested in the Schiit Yggy DAC on that list. Waiting to see some user feedback (of which there are a few on AA) and some reviews. If anyone on AS decides to check one out, please fill us in on your impressions. Thanks.
 
I wouldn't get too excited since this is a pure speculation article and the author has never heard any of the 'killer' components in his system against his expensive reference gear. It reminds me of the old saying: "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride." The article would have a lot more credibility if he had actually heard any of the components in his own system instead of imagining how good they might be. At least Fritz does say they "might" be better than what you have.
