We spend most of our time talking about the gear, the music.
This thread will hopefully explore the other aspects of how we sit down to enjoy our listening.
What do you do to settle in for a good session of music enjoyment? What environment do you create, what drink do you pour, what lighting do you like, what's your favorite chair? What's the ambience, how do you create the optimal setting for musical enjoyment?
Among the reasons I ask, is that I've been finding that while I love the SQ I'm getting and the music I have access to, I'm just not getting comfortable and creating an environment to focus on the music. Airconditioner always seems to come on just at the passage I like to hear some detail on, my girlfriend wants to make out, my girlfriend's son needs to tell me about some boss he just fought on dragonballz. Gah. I used to open the shades in my old top floor condo and look out on the world from on high, turn the lights down, pour some mead, and sit on the couch with my dog. When life was more simple....
