Equalisation digital or analog ?

I bought a pair of JBL 4425 just before new year's eve and have started to play with them, in term of positioning. They do produce a big sound stage and a fine imaging when correctly placed, with the singer above the speakers in the middle. So far I never managed to get this with the 4430, but never worked on position with them as the sound stage is already quite satisfying even if you stick them to one another.

I want to get into equilisation with them and was wondering shal I buy a (cheap) deq2496 but that could run between the streamer and the DAC in AES/EBU and the signal would receive only one conversion, or things like Kark Teknik that have only analog input and output ? so that either works in the analog real or double convert (not good) , or else ?
Thanks for advice

How about the DEQX PreMate D/A preamplifier/equalizer or a few of their other products as it handles both room adjustments and contains a DAC. And for a lot less money " DSPeaker's Anti-Mode 2.0 Dual Core or maybe a software application like 'DIRAC'.

Thanks,
you got it right, room coorection is the aim (plus a little +4dB at 45Hz )...
I just bought a Preamp and DAC (both bryston) so I cannot go along the preamp dac equalizer... I am sure it is my futur though: actually it will be a streamer DAC Room equalizer... I did try the Trinnov ST2 and thought allthough improving the global message, I was loosing something like the Soul of the music.... and Soul is what I want, even at the price of a less linear response curve.

My Yam does this on the 4430 and the difference is huge with and without correction.
I am listening to them right now correctly placed (horn to the right at the right speaker and vis versa), correctly phased (black cable speaker in the red terminal) and separated from 4 meters and the image has never been so nice and big. I just spent one year with them stupidly placed and phased... shame!!

I've heard those JBL's at a friends house. Nice midrange, loads of clean bass and none of that horn squawk (harsh) and awesome for rock.

Yes most audiophiles do not like them because they are pro, many JBLers would tell you how threeway is better than two, that the L300 (a hifi JBL not a pro) is the best vintage (with the hugly 250ti), that horns shout.....

Still the new M2 monitor is a two way compression system and has been bought by the site master of Lansing Heritage.... and all the authorities there sware by them only.... they are the daughters of the 4430... finer, smaller butt cheeks... obviously they had had no children yet ;)

I am perfectly aware of their limitations but they have been seriously upgraded in many respect and the highs are now soft as silk... still do not go till 25kHz but i do not care I am a bass addict
