Enlightening Discussion on Streaming

As in any music choice, regardless if its streamed, or CD, LP, tape, or downloads from some music site like HD Tracks its all about the recording and equipment used to produce the final product. Then is all comes down to the equipment used to listen to this bit of music in your room.

It's not so much a discussion on streaming, but a discussion on what master source material is utilized.

Yes, that's what I took from it. Independent of the quality of the recording itself, bitrate, format, or anything else, is the protection and curation of the master source audio.

That's the main problem, 99% of the time we really don't know what master was used in streaming online or MQA, or a hi-rez remake. .

I don't know I see knowing the source as a problem. I just find some albums unenjoyable. Then some great. Unfortunately the great are limited. The best sound quality is from my personal storage. I know what I have. Think of it like records. You know what you have and what plays well. When your at tidal, think of it as a used record shop. Sometimes you find a gen . When I do, I take note and go back. Roon lets you store the Meta data for album on tidal you like. Keep track of them that way.
