Earthquake - a big one - 7.1 magnitude

Nothing in the SF Bay area. Yet. Although small solace for those affected, at least they are occurring in the desert. Be careful.

First night of our family holiday. Having dinner at Santa Monica and the booth we were in started.l shaking and almost floating in air. The entire restaurant was shaking and moving.
Then it was over. Most weird feeling .

I was in a restaurant in Mammoth Lakes, CA. I noticed mild shaking, but most people did not notice this until observivg that the pendant lamps, were swinging a little.

I'm up 5 floors, so felt a good "roller" as we call quakes this kind. The DeVores swayed a bit too which had me extremely nervous!

I lived in S. Cal for 13 years and experienced many smaller quakes. They always bothered me. At least here in Florida you can see the hurricanes coming.

I didn’t feel the initial 6.9 earthquake here in San Diego, but did feel the 7.1 last night. At first I thought my wife had bumped into the back of the couch, because it shifted. But then I realized she was sitting in the chair next to me. We were looking at each other like :disbelief:
