Currently I have a Dynavector Te Kaitora Rua cart. However I have always loved van den Hul carts.

It might not be the most sensible upgrade but somewhere in the future I really would like to own a van den Hul cartridge. Has anyone compared Dynavector to van den Hul?

Right now I do not have the funds to buy one but A.J. van den Hul is not getting any younger so if I ever want one I'd better start saving money fast. IMHO the sweet spot of his range is the Crimson. So how would a Crimson perform in a 507mkII arm on a SAC Girati Grande turntable.

My main gripe with the Dynavector is that it might be a tad too polite. From my limited time with a Crimson I think it is a bit more Dynamic and more in your face.

So what do you people think? Should I start safe of be more sensible in my audio spending?

I love VDH, but the owners I have spoken to say each cartridge sounds different and you need to get it spot on. You should also look at Art 1000 from Audio technica.

When I spoke with A.J. he told me he was not a huge fan of the Dynavector arm which I use. But he does own one,if I were to buy one of his carts I should let him know I'll be using it on a 507mkII arm. That way he can build a cart that will work on the Dynavector arm. He told me he will do some tests to see if his carts work on my arm.
