You guys know me..sometimes I will buy but sometimes I will build. A while back, following an EASY project to make my own speaker cables I created a 10ft pair. Yes, they made an audible difference - beautiful over my stock RAT SHACK speaker wire. More important, when I see a pair of speaker cables on sale (example..on one site a user has a 10ft pair of Kimber Cable 4TC for $100///1/3 the cost ? ) I always go back to the table below ...my home mades blow them away...

Low-Inductance DIY Braided Hi-Fi Speaker Cables

Nice work. I'm a DIY'er as well. I've built many a cable and tried many a combination. I remember using RG223 and rg214 as speaker cables! I've spent many millions of dollars on cable. That's a fact! I'm in the particle accelerator business so buying cable is one of my responsibilities and accelerators need many miles of cable. :D

In the end I succumbed to purchasing a pair of Synergistic Research Tesla's. Occasionally I'll pop some new kid on the block speaker cable but the Tesla's always seem to come away with a more 3D sound so it's the a component I've stuck with now longer than anything else.

Ever thought about getting yours cryo'd? I'll bet they're sounding great though.

Congrats.

got anything for power cables. awhile ago i bought a aq sky cable off someone and it turns out it was counterfeit. he is a dealer but not for audioquest. so i said guy you owe me $900 and sent him back the cable. so he sent me a sob story about having no money and a power cable that he said was listed at $950. it has cheap ends on it like i could buy at home depot, and is a decent piece of wire in between but im thing it cost him more like $50 and not $950.
so im thinking about ordering furutech connectors and making it a good cable.lol.
sorry for the long winded story to ask you ,do you have any diy power cable ideas??

but im not a cable guy as far as ill buy good ones, but im not spending that much money on em.lol. and i buy all my ic's and sc's used cause cable companies have people by the short hairs. if they list for $1000 new ,dealers give em to you for $750 they get em for $400, and the used price you get back is like $200. its ridiculous. and do you really use cables, they plug in and just sit there and rarely get touched or moved. just my little rant for the day.lol.

The final parts cost was $125...if you were going to spend $500...worth it...if you were going to spend $100...LOL...save time, but the pre-made...
