So I had someone ask me the direction I see my channel taking and it got me to thinking.

There are a lot of great channels out there, but I don't want to do a lot of the "mass market" stuff they all do so well already. I'm not interested in reviewing the common stuff like Andrew Robinson does for instance, though his videography is absolutely beautiful. Please - this is NOT a slam against him or the common gear, but that is not my passion. NAD or Denon or Marantz just does not excite me though they make fine products.

I also have a more direct personality, so I'm not going to have long videos of fluff or providing technical measurements. I only care about two things - how does it function and most importantly how does it sound. There are plenty of other channels that will do a much better job than I can about getting technical. I also believe we need to be respectful of what we review because although we may not care for the sound ourselves, does not me others will feel the same. So I want to describe what I hear and let others decide if that will work for them.

I love doing the high end brands and boutique stuff such as Pass, Luxman, etc., the high end switches I've got reviews coming on, the Aqua La Scala DAC we are receiving, etc. Even the Klispch La Scala speakers I have are not a common speakers. My current cables are Zenwave - a boutique brand though we have reviews coming on others soon.

But I am obsessed with all kinds of cables and getting the best sound possible out of streaming audio in a way that is not simply buying a $35,000 streamer. Although that is great, I find it far more enjoyable (personally) to experiment with the lesser expensive gear - though still not cheap - and getting the best possible sound out of them.

For instance, I am currently reviewing some new Ethernet gear. Not very well known but definitely among the higher end performance - and price wise. Finding the best way to incorporate that gear - and others such as a GigaFoil in line with the Rose and Luxman and high end switches I find just so exciting.

So I'm going to focus on getting the best possible sound out of a system for streaming audio as possible with no interest in turntables. I also am infatuated with horn speakers and would love to dive into that world farther.

It's just about having fun with it and never letting it become a job. I'm thinking of it as more like an online Audio Club.

As far as the direction you have taken, it seems a good approach. You don't appear to have a bias to any product so far.

If, people don't realize that we all like the sound of different things then they are destined for a long unhappy and painful audio journey.

There are things you write or speak about that I read and enjoy. There are some I don't read completely. It just depends on what my interests are at the time.
For me that is true of any of the audio/video writers out there.

Hopefully you will be able to stay the course you have started. My .02

Thank you.

Yup - I'm the same way - I only watch on YT or talk about/review what interests me.

No company owns me or pays me in any way so I am free to speak my mind. That's not to say there are not products I absolutely love. The Luxman 509x for instance. I LOVE that amp. But I think people can detect when someone is passionate about really liking a product vs having a different driving motive.
