Finally, I can hear my Beiber collection in all it's sonic splendor.
 
Very true, since the advent of digital recording, computer recording and mastering platforms (hardware and software) continue to change dramatically resulting in system breakages, an array of incompatibility and material in legacy formats (intermediate and final).

What would survive if an EMP or solar flare hit The Earth? The physical medium would survive And any pre-microprocessor playback equipment would too.
 
Although the article's primary focus seems to be on what are essentially the inaccuracies of analog tape :doubtful:
