diffuser

It may be more reflective (Not in a good way) than a diffuser since the majority is flat.
 
inexpensive yet very functional diffusors can be had by using molded drop in ceiling tiles. They can be painted to match your decor.
I use the "Petal" design. Available online from "Houzz". 5 tiles each 2' x 2' cost $45.
I've cut cut and glued in styrofoam as a backer and attach them to the wall with 3M removable strips.
