Deoxit Demystified

I liked that the video made clear the difference in the various products and their applications, particularly the different Deoxit products.

There is lots of useful information in the video that I found interesting. I learned about cleaning the areas between air-gap capacitors on an analog tuner. I never gave those spaces any thought about dust or other contamination. I also learned about lubricating certain mechanical moving parts. Not only is the video informative about the Deoxit products, it is also quite informative about other parts that may need attention.

Yes very interesting thank you. I bought a pair of a7 vott in rough shape and near 60 years old. The L-pad on one of the 801-8a xovers was not working . I changed the caps and resistors because when I touched a couple of the wires they just disintegrated and I used the red deoxit on all the moving parts and it worked like a champ. I know Lpads are only a few dollars but keeping the original parts is priceless. I since built a pair of 1200hz xovers and used deoxit everywhere. The salt air around here kills everything. Love the stuff. But I had no idea what any of them were actually for until I watched the vid.
