A quick question for McIntosh friends; the Data and Power Control cables that go out of one McIntosh component to another. Is there anything special about these cables? The only thing that McIntosh has on their website appear to be standard stereo 1/8" cables. Is this correct, or will I need a very specific cable.

Thank you.

Awesome, thank you... I also emailed McIntosh and received the following email five minutes later... amazing service!

"Hi Randy,

PWR CTL out from preamp-> Trigger in on MP100-> Trigger out of MP100 to > Trigger in on MR85 tuner.

Sum Data out from C712 to Data in on MR85.

This should do it.

Stereo or mono cables, either should work fine.

Thanks again,
Ron Cornelius

Buy the cheapest from Amazon that looks decent.

So, no need for the $65 each McIntosh cable :D.... I got to check, I might already have some. If not, I can pick up some from Amazon, maybe even something from Best Buy :). I only need three.

Upon checking I actually have 4 cables in my "reserve cables" box. 3 are mono and 1 is stereo. Since Ron indicated that mono or stereo cables should work fine I think I will try it first with cables I already have and go from there. I think some other pieces I have had in the past required mono cables :dunno:.
