FYI to anyone interested in Cybershaft products; in addition to the new higher priced offerings with the option

to utilize either power from the wall or an external linear regulated power supply...

????OCXO ???? OP21A/OP20A

and single output clocks;

????OCXO ???? OP21A-1/OP20A-1

Cybershaft has also just made public on their website lower price options that don't sacrifice great baseline performance;

????OCXO ???? MA????

For non-Japanese speakers...

Open in Google Chrome, look on the list of selections on the left hand page and select

This may help:

Multiple Output Versions (option to use built in power supply or have model that uses external power supply)'

Model number: UPOCXO-OP21A Model with built-in AC power supply
Model number: UPOCXO-OP21A-D External DC dedicated model
Model number: UPOCXO-OP20A Model with built-in AC power supply
Model number: UPOCXO-OP20A-D External DC dedicated model
Model number: LTPW01P External DC power supply (with panel)

OP'XX" or in this case, OP21A or OP20A is the performance level of the OCXO. OP21 is a touch better in principal than OP20A, differences are minor

Single Output Versions (only use external power supply);

Model number: UPOCXO-OP21A-1 External DC dedicated model
Model number: UPOCXO-OP20A-1 External DC dedicated model
Model number: LTPW01P External DC power supply (with panel)

Single Output / Lower Precision (OP19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, see table below on that page rating and price option), this line reads like it is meant to be more economical choice;

Model number: UPOCXO-MA-OPxx External DC dedicated model
Model number: LTPW01P External DC power supply (with cast panel)

There are products (clock distributor) and other prior products.
Note I'm not listing all legacy/prior products above, only the newer ones.

They have a line of products for each need and multiple budgets now.

That's how I read through the plethora of options now available.

Hope this helps...

Nice. If only you could put them in a Grandioso chassis.

True. Putting aside the fact that would push the price up far from where it is today due to cost factors, that would be great as the Type3 OP21A OCXO and overall unit phase noise and jitter specs are better than what comes in those cases today 😃

Yes, I know. If I were to upgrade my G02X I would buy a Cybershaft and not G1. But it would need to be out of sight! I bought Sigma Clock-50 long enough to reach should I do that.

I bet the Esoteric chassis would make them 3-4x more expensive.

Those are trully state of the art clocks at affordable prices.

I have an OP21
These are the best clocks on the planet (as far as I know)

Thank You Mark, for introducing me to Cybershaft several years ago.

Yes, we conducted extensive tests, with several beta testers to determine if using 50 or 75 ohm digital cables had sonic differences when matched to the correct interface. All the cables were built using identical conductors and dielectrics. Only the characteristic impedance and appropriate connectors were different.

The result was that 50 ohm interfaces should have the proper 50 ohm cables for best performance. And 75 ohm interface should be matched to 75 ohm cables.

But even beyond that, the biggest differences between digital cables are the precision of the construction of the cable and the type and quality of the dielectrics.

What I found odd was that Esoteric/Mexcel don't build a 50 ohm clock cable when their flagship clock is 50 ohm. The rumored reason being, impedance mis-match doesn't matter for short cables. Which always bothered me. I had the top Esoteric/Mexcel clock cable 7N-DA6100v3 which is 75 ohms. But then Shunyata did Sigma Clock-50 so I bought one of those to try and the improvement over the 7N-DA6100v3 was immediately apparent. So I sold the Mexcel and bought another two Sigma Clock-50. After the Clock-50 revelation I bought Sigma AES-EBU to replace a Mogami cable and that was also a night-and-day difference. Which should lead to my next investment Sigma XLR but I am so heavily invested in Crystal Cable for those that I'll stick with them and save my money for the new Typhon QR. The Denali brought nothing to the party so the next step is to turbo-boost it with your next creation.

Esoteric-Mexcel did build a pure, certified 50ohm cable at one point, the model was the 8N-A2000.

They discontinued it after a few years....many bought it however it was not enough, Many bought the lower priced
75ohm options out there based upon the absolutely flawed assumption that 75ohm cables can be used where 50ohm
is called for and vice versa.

This could not be more wrong. Shunyata commissioned a double-blind study on this exact found several years ago.
5-6 of us who all had different end gear from different vendors all were sent many non-labelled cables, impossible
to tell apart over a multi-month period. When it all was said and done, the common theme in feedback from all
involved was that it did actually make a difference and while you can use a 50ohm (the better spec.) cable where
a 75ohm was called for with few side-effects (note this is not 'none'), there were many downsides and differences
forcing a 75-ohm cable where a 50ohm was called for regardless of length...

I owned 2 of the 8N-A2000 50-ohm cables; they were the best in a long line of 50-ohm cable experiments.
As an aside, these became like unobtanium and were frequently counterfeited.....

When it was all said and done though, the Shunyata SIGMA CLOCK50 when it came out, easily beat the 8N-A2000
in all key categories that caused me to replace the prior reference 50ohm cable with SIGMAs very soon after.

You didn't hear any difference compared to an Esoteric clock, or no clock?

Nope. Nothing. Had it for a few months before getting rid of Esoteric. For the Esoteric Grandioso money, there’s far better options in my opinion. I’d look to MSB or EMM. Those are the 2 best DACs I’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing, and come in cheaper than the full mono Grandioso set.

I wasn't aware that MSB built a combo SACD/DAC. Which is what you were comparing the Grandioso K1 against, right?

Correct, neither company does. I spin discs very rarely.

Yes I had the K1. Was blanking on the model last night.

Tough comparison to put the DAC section of an Esoteric disc player against a dedicated MSB/EMM DAC. Not really comparing apples with apples.

True....putting them (MSB or EMM) against a standalone D-02X or a pair off D1Xs or for that matter against a DCS Rossini DAC, Wadax Atlantis or Wadax Reference....that's a proper comparison.
