Connecting NAS to BDP-2

I have been enjoying my BDP-2 using an external 1 Tb Toshiba USB drive and a the included Bryston thumbdrive. Everything has worked flawlessly. So I decided to try to connect my 1 Tb drive to my computer and access it by the BDP-2 by NAS but I have been unsuccessful. I watched the Youtube video and opened the NAS Setup tab, I clicked on add share and entered the Bryston BDP-2 local with the password and username of Bryston Bryston, named it Bryston and clicked next. This is where I get stuck as it does not seem to find my Toshiba USB drive. What am I doing wrong?
