I've just ordered one of these cables from The Cable Co. Has anyone tried it? I hear it's supposed to be fairly good but I've never tried an audio USB cables before. I've just used standard computer cables. It's nicely priced so it's an inexpensive experiment.

Thanks for having me Joe!

Let me know how that Berkeley DAC sounds. I hear they are backordered but doing another production run. I was talking with the owner a few weeks ago and I owe him an email. I had thoughts of becoming a dealer locally for that but then backed away.

I decided to go with Weiss for the USB to AES converter for my Avantgarde Acoustics ZERO 1. I've had those for a few days now and they really are an amazing speaker. Still getting to know them.

My main system is a Weiss, Sound Lab and NuForce Reference 20 based system. I've never had horns before. I used to run my Sound Labs A-1PX electrostatic speakers with Atma-Sphere MA-2 MK3.2 OTL mono blocks but went to NuForce class D last year in the fall when I needed to retube and was having trouble finding enough of them. I tried a pair of Reference 20 amps while I was waiting for tubes and I liked the sound of the class D amps better.

I would have liked to try your Devialet but it's only rated down to 2 ohms so the Sound Lab panels would give it grief I think Around 1 ohm for a brief period of time. Devialet makes nice stuff though! Listened to the Phantom a few weeks ago at the Montreal Audio Show. I might put those in th living room for fun!
