May 2013 - 5MHz vinyl - Channel D, developers of Pure VinylT and Pure Music® audio software for Apple computers announce their new Seta® Plus phono preamplifier Special Edition in Model L trim [$3.799 $6.998] "whose bandwidth is DC to 5MHz. The Seta includes RCA and fully balanced XLR inputs and balanced outputs designed to connect to a high quality A/D converter for digital RIAA compensation via Channel D's Pure Vinyl software. For an all-analog signal path there is an optional high precision (>±0.1 dB RIAA and ±0.05dB inter-channel match) internal RIAA compensation module. The Flat and RIAA outputs may be used together.
"The RIAA module has balanced and single-ended outputs and premium parts including low dissipation Schoopage sprayed-metal contact polypropylene capacitors. It also features a bucking DC servo circuit that forces output devices into conduction even in the absence of signal to lower distortion. The Seta's video-bandwidth front-end module is electronically and acoustically isolated and kept at a stable operating temperature insides a block of solid copper.
"Because of ultra-wide bandwidth internal signal propagation delay is negligible (tens of nanoseconds), eliminating the drawbacks of local negative feedback for ultra-low distortion of <0.001% THD (10Hz-40kHz at 600 ohms or more). The Seta Plus includes an updated rechargeable internal AGM battery power supply and heavy milled aluminum chassis with a glossy red powder coat finish."
