I'm thinking about selling my Mcintosh C2200 and Fosgate phono preamp and getting a Mcintosh C500T maybe used. What do you think?

Thanks,
Robert

The C500(T or P) is a wonderful preamp. Fully balanced and quiet. I miss mine.

Anybody else think I should do this? I need more then one person to blame for spending this much money!

Thanks Joe, that C500t is pretty.
Paul, I might be going to visit Steve, Petro85, good guy, I think he has an Allnic, don't know what model, he seems to like it though

I have no doubt that C500T will be better than C2200 and Fosgate phono. No doubt. I upgraded to the C500T this past January. It replaced a C2300 (better than C2200 IMO) and Zesto Andros PS1 (better than Fosgate IMO). I was not planning on my Zesto going anywhere. However, after 6-7 months, I realized I gave up very little, if anything, by using the phono stage inside the C500T. I am using Tesla tubes in line stage and Gold Lions in the MC phono slots. The C500 is clearly superior to the C2300. I used Transparent Ref XL balanced interconnects with both preamps.

Again, no doubt in my mind, go for the C500. It's one hell of a preamp.

C500. Most happy with the C1000T MC phono stage & the C500 would be very close. You will just need to decide on the T (tube) or the P (ss).

Very happy with mine and love the phono section with Tesla tubes :)
