You bet.

I have been known to play some non traditional music for my massages and can tolerate any speed or type. There were times in the past where the therapist would actually ask to change it because they just couldn't massage to Jimi Hendrix:)

Buckethead is one heck of a guitarist who can play just about any type or genre of music when he wants to. He ranges from dreamy wandering tunes, to fusion, rock, speed metal and anything in between. He has a large catalog of disks and oddly enough, probably something for almost everyone. Many wont know it because they can't get past the chicken bucket and mask so they don't even give him a chance.

Anyway, last night I decided to throw Colma on for my massage and it was perfect except for being just a tad too short. My therapist liked it so much, he restarted it when it ended.

There are a few discs that fit right into the dreamy meandering mind scape tunes.

Electric Tears is pretty much just him (Brian Carol) playing guitars.
Colma is very much the same but adds drums and bass
Population Overdrive is 80% acceptable

Then there are the tracks from other discs that still fit the bill like Soothsayer and Padmanasa.

I am going to put together and extended tracks compilation so it lasts the whole session mixing up all the slow dreamy tunes from above. If anyone is interested, let me know and I can send a copy.

Any Buckethead fans out here?

Brian

Thanks for the recommendations Brian. I'm finding some great music here because of everyone's input.

Joe, you should be able to find something in his catalog if you like guitar.

I will continue to post recommendations of my favs.

So who is Buckethead? Any guesses?

Buckethead (born Brian Carroll), is a guitarist and multi instrumentalist who has worked within several genres of music. He has released 45 studio albums, four special releases and one EP. He has performed on over 50 more albums by other artists. His music spans such diverse areas as progressive metal, funk, blues, jazz, bluegrass, ambient, and avant-garde music.
Buckethead is famous for wearing a KFC bucket on his head, emblazoned with an orange bumper sticker reading FUNERAL in capital black block letters, and an expressionless plain white mask which, according to Buckethead, was inspired by his seeing Halloween 4.[SUP][2][/SUP] At one point, he changed to a plain white bucket that no longer bore the KFC logo; but subsequently reverted to his trademark KFC bucket. He also incorporates nunchaku and robot dancing into his stage performances

Thanks. The last time I listened to his stuff he was still unknown. I guess it's been years now...

I always thought he might have been Curt Kirkwood of the Meat Puppets. Oh well...:S

Colma is a GREAT album, but it bothers me there is so much background hiss on it. Do you hear this too? Other than that I love the music and the whole feeling of the disc. I'll have to check out the other albums you mentioned...

Never took notice but will look for that.

Another band I have been digging is Riverside, a prog band from Poland. They have a lo to dreamy tracks that I put together for massage also.
