Didn’t think this was ever going to happen. Never say Never. I brought a Bryston headphone amp. Ron at Altronics did the demo. I have been shopping for a headphone amp for three weeks or so. I listened to Macintosh and an Accuphase both top in the category but I didn’t want to spend that much. In my price( 2K) point to me they are clear winner. I have mention in the past that I find Bryston a bit bright for my taste. I’m not sure in general that has changed but that is only my opinion. I didn’t find the headphone amp as bright with Senn 800s. They have always built a quality product. How they have touted their marketing accomplishments has rubbed me the wrong way at times.
Congratulations on having the top product. Canadian :coolyeah:

Hard to beat Bryston for value for the dollar, build, warranty, etc. Congrats on the new BHA 1.

I haven't seen the Accuphase headphone amp, will check it out.

Accuphase doesn't have a dedicated headphone amp. I looked at the E-260. I would say it sounded as good as a Mac.

BHA1 is built like a tank right down to the silky smooth volume control. Different input options make cable and headphone swapping a snap, and it does double duty as a pretty high end preamp too. I am sad I sold mine. For solid state it is one of the best. I gravitated more to my pathos aurium and my ALO Studio Six. Love tubes in the chain.

Steven Stone of Home Theater Review.com says about the Bryston BHA-1 Headphone Amplifier: "Of all the headphone amplifiers I've heard and seen, the Bryston BHA-1 is the most flexible, with its two gain settings and ability to accept single-ended and balanced [both mini and standard] headphone connections.

It can also serve as an analog preamp. Along with superb flexibility, the BHA-1 also sounds excellent with a wide variety of headphones, from high-sensitivity in-ears to the Audeze LCD-2s and 600-ohm Beyer-dynamic DT-990s."
