Looks like.

It's possible this RIF was to obtain bottom-line savings by reducing head-count. 3 full-time professional employees working in North America likely cost them ~$1.25 -$1.5M in terms of fully-burdened costs for professional headcount.
 
I wonder if will see more of this as time moves on.

How much can the market bear of high end audio year over year price increases? Before they price themselves out into irrelevancy.

Removing the distributor and the associated overhead keeps the gear pricing in check.

Didn't Gryphon recently do similar? and Luxman?
 
I've always found John Quick to be first class in every way.

Hope dCS hasn't made a mistake...

My experience also during the several years I owned a dCS stack. His reputation for good customer support will hopefully land him another prestigious position in the industry.

I have met with John Quick on several occasions and he has been a great resource regarding my dCS gear and digital in general over the years. I think they might regret this move in the future.
