Best External Sound Card for Sony ShakeX30 Sound System

Hi,

I've just bought Sony Shake X30 sound system. I want to use it to play music from my laptop (connect through Audio-In from laptop to the sound system). What's the best external sound card(s) available? (loud enough, clear, etc.)?

Just buy a USB DAC, not a sound card. There are plenty of good sounding budget DAC's like an Audioquest Dragonfly Black or Red, a Schiit audio Multibit Mani and you can go up in price from there like the Schiit Bifrost. IFI audio, Chord Mojo are a few others. These will all sound better than an external sound card.

This is party system. I doubt you will hear any difference with an external DAC (which is a basicly audio out only soundcard) vs the inbuild headphone out.

But if you need one for some reason anyway, get sth like the CA DAC:
