I would disagree that most are thieves, although I'm sure there are a few. Nevertheless, on the audiophile forums where SACD ripping is discussed, there are many many posters who discuss ripping their own collections for music server playback, just as they rip CD's, DVD's, Blurays, etc. Whether or not that is true for most users who rip their collections is impossible to say, but I think it not unlikely. Given the relative dearth of new and/or ultra high-end SACD players, I think it only makes sense. Not for me at this time, I'm more than happy playing the discs, but it's not hard to foresee a future where that might be difficult or unsatisfying.
