Basis 2001 Signature w/ Vector 4 tonearm and Lyra Skala Cartridge

I guess I don't have the access it says this video is private.
Anyway I like those tables and my one and only experience with a lyra skala was a great one.
I loved that cartridge. It was a little over my pricerange but I could see how it could be conceived as one of the great value to performance carts out there.

Sorry about that. Posting these videos is new to me. Thanks Steve and Bob for letting me know. I made it public.

Excellent... Is this your room Bruce ? Very cozy I luv it

Yes Paul. Thanks. Small but dedicated and treated. It works well and is comfortable. I set up the vinyl rig for the first time in a while. I can't believe I waited so long. I listened for about six or seven hours…..cleaning records and weeding. I never do that.

Paul. I currently have an Ayre amp and Joe's EAR preamp, but I am picking up two MC275s this week, also. I see you have them too. Can't wait.

Bruce...great table! Of course, I am a bit biased :D Your beats mine by a country mile as mine is the non-signature version and I have a Graham 2.2 arm (very solid arm) but the Vector 4 is superior. Does the EAR preamp have a phonostage as well? Is that what you are using? I can only imagine that combo...must sound very nice. Enjoy!

My EAR pre doesn't have the excellent EAR phono stage. Joe bought this pre and he already had the Manley. I am using a Keith Herron tubed phono stage. It is by far the longest owned piece in my system. It's a great piece, too….very flexible, detailed and sweet, with just enough tube influence.

I love the Basis turntable. I thought I would miss my Transrotor Fat Bob S, but I am getting more detail and PRAT. It is a very exciting and fun table.

The Vector arm is like a piece of fine art. It took a little more time to set it up, compared to my past Regas and SMEs but it is so well made and so exact, that I am very confident in my setup. When I double check, everything is spot on, and the azimuth is adjusted at the factory. I have had other unipivot arms and I am usually not a fan, but this one is so stable and fine, it is a pleasure to watch it move across the grooves.

Bruce, who's playing and singing on that album?

Bob….That is Richard Thompson…..an all-time great guitarist. One of my favorites. He has been around forever…..one of the founding members of Fairport Convention. If you ever get the chance to see him, he will blow your mind. He has so many great songs, it's hard to choose one…..but….

This is the recording I was listening to. It's a 45RPM put out by Mobile Fidelity.
